FAQ
How do I calculate a percentage of a number?
Multiply the number by the percentage and divide by 100. For example, 20% of 150 is 150 × 20 ÷ 100 = 30.
How is percentage change calculated?
Subtract the old value from the new value, divide by the old value and multiply by 100. Going from 80 to 100 is a 25% increase; going from 100 to 80 is a 20% decrease.
Why can’t I divide by zero?
Percentages compare against a starting value. If that value is 0, there is nothing to compare against, so the result is undefined.
